1 Month of Prozac

I am really not in the mood to blog at the moment, but I figured I should at least let you all know how my new meds are working.

Well, they haven't helped the migranes.  As a matter of fact, I've had one every day since Saturday, and they're worse than normal too.

Emotionally I think the Prozac has helped me to balance out a little better.  I've been able to keep things in perspective better since I've been on it (like, not flipping out over small things)  and been a lot less stressed out, despite the fact that my life seems to have gotten MORE stressful instead of less.

I haven't had any caffinated drinks in 3 weeks or so, and haven't noticed any wonderful health effects from it.  I'm afraid to drink any caffine now though, because I KNOW I'll be BEYOND hyper!!! LOL  I'll probably drink my first caffinated drink the next time I want to go on a cleaning binge!

I'm still having dreams at night, which I still find wierd.  After rarely dreaming for most of my 26 years, dreaming nightly is pretty wierd.

So, all in all, I have to say that after my first month of Prozac, I really like it.  I've taken to calling them my "Happy Pills" LOL

How Jana Spent Her Weekend

On Saturday I had volunteered to help my roomate with a kids thing her church was having.  While we were there, she had the kids do this cool little craft! They had these little things, about the size of tater tots and made of a styrofoam-ish stuff, that stuck together when you got them wet! The kids (and I) made all kinds of interesting little creations...

One of the helpers, the son of my roomate's best friend, (known as X on my blog)  wanted to spend the night at our house.  We said yes...

He and I were happily playing a game on the X box (Halo), when we remembered that my roomate had brought all the leftover craft stuff home with her! X grabbed the stuff, I cleaned off the table, and we set to work!!!!

See the little things in the background? That's what they looked like before we got them wet and stuck them together.

I made the little garden in front (corn inside a fence), the church in the back right corner (complete with cemetery behind it, which you can't see very well) and the trees around it (complete with apples).  X made the teepees, which are WAY cool but didn't show up well in the pics.

You can also see our river, (X and I made it together) our fort (X made it), our heros (aka Indians, which X found somewhere in the roomate's house), The torch the hero is holding (fire made by me, turned into a torch by X)  and the deer...

Which you can see roasting over my fire in this one.  I also made the blood coming out of it.  X made the spit to roast it on!

Altogether we just had a ton of fun, and I am DEFINATELY buying some of this craft to use some Thurday night with "my kids"!!!

This week in Pics

Knitting Progress:

This one was for last months Surprise Knit-A-Long:

This one was our first KAL for October (there will be one more starting the 15th or so.):

I've become obsessed with dishcloths.  Just so ya know!

Bee Progress (see my last two blog posts if you have no idea what I'm talking about)

I've enjoyed watching the bees buzzing in and out of their little hole, but none have gotten inside.  I plan to do another raid of their little hole tomorrow night right as it's getting dark.    But for now, these might amuse you:

Jana vs the Bees - Round 2

Last night I came inside and only 1 bee was still in my room, but they were buzzing outside the window.  I ran to Menards and grabbed caulking (my window is REALLY old with lots of cracks) and bee killer spray.  I got this new foaming caulk stuff (not the old stuff with the gun), and kinda went a little crazy with it... LOL I have caulking EVERYWHERE.  I have caulking on my fingers, on my arms, on my clothes, on my bed, on my pillow, on the floor, on a fan on the other side of the room (no idea how I did that one!),...

Then, went out and sprayed the hole in the the window with the bee stuff.... sprayed a while, ran away, sprayed a while, ran away,....  bonded with the roomate's dog, who was in the back yard with me.

And then realized that I hadn't caulked around the lock on the window.  So I came in and found 8 bees buzzing in the window. *sigh*

They are now forever imortalized in caulking! Hahahahahaha  I took a sadistic pleasure in burying the little guys alive in the caulk....

Then I got to watch them all buzzing all around trying to get into their little hole (unsuccessfully due to the fumes from the spray *giggle*)   Of course, every time I heard a noise through the night, I thought it was a bee... so I didn't sleep the greatest.  But I'm alive, and that's what matters, right?

So, I just got home from work, and still no bees! Hopefully they'll stay gone and I can put my curtains up again (preferably before I forget - again - that I don't have curtains in the window until AFTER I'm halfway through changing clothes!!!! Hahaha I probably gave the old man next door a heart attack!!)

Nature Wins - I Surrender!!!

I'm sure by now you all have noticed that nature and I don't seem to get along to well.  I've bloged this summer about my issues with poison ivy, my attack by a swarm of angry bees, and how I was a victim of an attack by a killer tree.   I'm sure there are also a bunch of posts about how I've gotten sick from being allergic to nature.

I think that nature must have over-heard Leti and I disciplining the killer tree, and decided it was time for a full-scale war!

I woke up this morning, not only to the knowledge that there are itchy bumps forming up and down my arms (poison ivy attack #3 of the year?), but I also noticed this odd little buzzing sound.  I looked up (without my glasses of course, since i had just woken up), thought "awww, it's a cute wittle fly!" and shut off the light and went back to sleep.

It wasn't a fly.  It was a yellow jacket (aka a type of bee very common here, which I am allergic to.)   Evidently they made a nest in my window.  By the time I grabbed clothes, hairbrush, shoes, my Bible, my cell phone, and yarn (hey, priorities you know!), while screaming and running out of the room, there were at least 6 bees flying all around my room!!!!  Not to mention the ones I could hear in between the curtain and the window.  *shudder*

As a last resort, I attempted a desperate measure... I decided to attack one of the bees with some hair spray.  Despite the fact that it got all in MY eyes and was driving me crazy, the bee seemed completely unaffected. So I'll be spending my evening using bee-bombs in my bedroom and cleaning up afterwords.  *sigh*

Yes nature, I am now officially surrendering.  I will no longer spank trees or tell them they are bad, even if they do try to rip my hair out of my skull.

Can I please have my bedroom back now?

My newest obsession

I have to tell you all about my latest obsession... making dishcloths!!!

Here is a plain boring one that I knitted last month:

Here is one that I knitted after that.  It's not the greatest pic, but it at least lets you see the pattern:

(you can also see the edges of Tiger's paws on the left)

And here is the first dishcloth that I crocheted!

I messed up on the first set of stitches (the part at the bottom that looks different) but then I got the hang of it.  I think I'm going to try this one again with a smaller crochet needle.  This dishcloth was a little bit too big for me and also a little bit thicker (and therefore not flexible) than I'd like.

I also knittted another one that's very cool, but I couldn't scan it last night (I had to get it wet to flatten it out a little, and it wasn't dry last night).  I'll try to scan that one for you all tonight :)

Weekend Adventures

We had one of my roomate's neices over Saturday, and we decided to all go out and pick walnuts.  So, we drive along aimlessly for a while, along a country road... until we finally spotted walnuts on the ground!  We grabbed shopping bags, and started to pick.  The walnut trees were growing between a field and the road, so we started out on the roadside first... then I decided to look for the ones under the trees.  I get halfway through the brush (tree limbs, briars, etc) when all of the sudden I realize I'm caught!

My hair was up in a ponytail, and somehow a branch had gotten UNDER the hair on the top of my head, and when I moved it jerked that hair up...  so now I have a huge welt on my head where it pulled so hard!!! When I went to brush my hair yesterday, it brought tears to my eyes.

However, we did get a HUGE amount of walnuts... (we refer to this area now as "Walnut Eutopia") we filled a trash bag about halfway full, and three or four Walmart-sized plastic sacks.  Now we have to find somewhere to put them, and let the outsides dry for a while.  Once the outsides dry, we peel them off, then we take the walnut, hit it with a hammer, and then we pick out the nut itself.  I know, it sounds a bit confusing... when it comes time for us to do them, I'll take pics okay?

So, while others are recovering from wild parties and hangovers this weekend, I'm recovering from a Walnut gathering mission.  I have a welt on my head, scratches all up and down my arms and legs, and for some odd reason the muscles in my butt hurt.

But it was fun!!!  Which is good... because there are still a WHOLE lot of walnuts laying on the ground there!!! We'll probably go back again in a couple of weeks! lol

It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!

It's Friday! It's Friday!!!!

*doing the happy it's Friday dance*

I'm so glad it's Friday!!!!   Work today is CRAZY! End of the month stuff, plus the normal day stuff, plus we leave early on Friday.  I'll be glad to go HOME, change into jammies, and enjoy my weekend.

I've been SOOOOOOOOOO unbelievably hyper this week! I don't know if it's a Prozac side-effect, if its from me exercising every day (metabolism boost?) or what, but I'm so hyper I can't hardly handle it! Seriously.  My leg is constantly bouncing up and down and I can't hardly even concentrate.  This is VERY bad at work!!! I'll talk to the doctor about it... i've been this way ALL week and I haven't had any caffine in almost two weeks (except the tea incident) and almost no chocolate! I ate ONE single peanut M&M last night.  ONE!!!  Not a bag, a SINGLE solitary M&M.  This is NOT a chocolate-induced high!! lol

Last night went really good (Thursday night kids night).  It started off pretty rough... the kids were SOOOO hyper!!!! Three of the boys were acting crazy... two ended up being taken home early because they were uncontrolable.  We tried to play a game, but they were so hyper I couldn't get them to listen... we tried to do the game outside, but they were so hyper on the way out that I canceled the game.  They were really bad.  But they I put on a movie, and after cleaning up three spilled plates of snacks, and one spilled drink, we all settled down and had fun watching the movie.  We played a different game afterwords, which they had fun with... especially when they got prizes.  Then they all went home, except a couple of girls who stayed with me to help me clean.   I was so tired afterwords, I went to bed at 9 last night! Whew!

Funny from last night:
I noticed one of the little girls (she's about 6) had somehow wrestled one of the boys to the floor and was aparently spanking him.  After asking her what she was doing (Why are you touching him there?! lol) she indignantly informed me that she was giving him a "butt-whoopin"!!  Well. What do you even say back to that?? LOL

Bonding question for the weekend:

What is your favorite fall memory?

Wednesday Wonderings

I LOST 2 AND A HALF POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, sorry, just needed to share that with you.  I've been without caffine for almost two weeks (except those two stupid herbal teas), I've gotten up before work almost every day to exercise, and I'm trying to reduce my portion sizes.  I'm just generally being good, ya know?  So I'm glad to see some results.  I'd be happier if those results included my clothes not fitting so tight, but, one thing at a time.

In other news... nothing exciting is going on.  Trying to stay on top of things, keep from being overwhelmed.  Slowly but surely making some progress.  The bedroom is getting cleaner.  The kitchen... well... we're working on that too.

I've had so much fun reading all your bios, I think I'm going to start posting a little "warm-fuzzy bonding post" every Monday.  Until then though, if you haven't posted your bio, do it! It's fun!
