Moving, Midol, and More!

Well, I've slept in my new home for 4 nights now!  Enjoying it for sure...  I have my books unpacked and put up, and I have my clothes put in the dresser now.  Still only have half of my clothes ironed... guess that will be the project for today.

I went out and did some crazed "before budgeting" shopping.  I bought 3 games for the X-box.  The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring, and Indiana Jones - Emperor's Tomb.

I have made out my budget... I think I'm gonna put a "debt-o-meter" somewhere on my blog.  Paid my cell phone bill Thursday night (while eating an egg roll! I love having a cell phone shop in the food court of the mall!)   Now I'm getting ready to budget my check I got yesterday.  I think I'm going to put the money for different things into different envelopes.  I did that before and it worked out really well.

I discovered that my pain-killers of choice (Midol & Aleve) didn't move with me... I'm VERY unhappy!  And of course, I didn't discover that they were gone until AFTER it was the time of the month for me to USE them!  *dramatic sigh*

Last night I went to bed before 10:30 (after having taken some of my beloved Benadryl) and slept until 9 this morning!  I didn't realize how exhausted I'd been until I actually got sleep LOL  Now I'll have energy for the rest of my moving.  Yippee.

What's up with THAT?!

Has anyone else had someone coming onto their blog, and leaving comments like this:

"Your blog is realy very interesting. http://www.g888.com"

And to top it all off... you click on the link, and it's not even VALID?????  I have had like 10 of these left on my site this week.

Is this some kind of anonymous harassment or something?

The End of Homelessness?

Well, as of tonight, I am supposed to be moving into the new house.

I say "supposed," because originally I was supposed to move into it yesterday. But unfortunately it wasn't ready yet.  So, tonight we'll try it again.  Hopefully I'll be spending my night ironing all the clothes that have been smooshed in the move (I have a thing about ironing clothes as they are put in the closet), unpacking my books and arranging them on my bookshelf, and SLEEPING in a room with a door!  Ahhhhhhh.... sounds wonderful huh? LOL

Oh, and my new and improved computer is sitting in the new house, waiting for me to meet and use it!  I'm so excited!  I'll be spending the night exploring what's on it, installing my favorite programs....

So, I'll let you all know tomorrow if I truely am no longer homeless or not! LOL

Dungeons & Dragons

Okay, so maybe Spanish ministry isn't going to be my only new obsession.

I was talking to some guys last night who have been playing Dungeons & Dragons.  These are guys who have basically been raised as Christians all their lives... and they're playing this game.  But they described to me a game of it that they had played, where everyone playing was Christian, and explained to me how if only Christians are playing you can actually make it not evil.  The game they described didn't sound evil at all (except they used gas, as in the kind that comes from beans, to wipe out an entire village! Hahahaha)   So... I was wondering if any of you had experience with D&D and whether what they're saying is truth.  Can you play D&D without doing anything evil?

I know all Christianity has said for decades that D&D is evil... and all RPGs too.  But my question is... is the tradition of saying D&D is evil valid, or should we instead preach against "using magic spells in even a pretend fashion"?  Where should we draw the line on this issue?

Gimme your thoughts!

"Tradition does NOT equal truth."

Weekend Adventures

I'm BAAAAACCCCCCKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!

I had a WONDERFUL weekend at camp!  No Kaybee, I didn't meet any men worthy of drool! Hahahaha   I did meet your sis-in-law though.  Did she tell you?

Spanish camp is definately a horse of a different color.  We came, expecting on Friday to start work at 3 or 3:30, to serve supper at 5.  Instead, when we went for lunch at 12:30, we were told that they'd requested that supper be SERVED at 3!  So, we ran around panicking... and a lady from the morning/lunch kitchen crew (we were the supper/night snack crew) heard us all talking and found out I spoke Spanish.  OH my I am SO not telling people that next year!  Do you know what they made me do????  They took me from my wonderful job as being IN CHARGE of the front line, and told me instead I was supposed to be the WAITRESS to the ministers.

Did I ever blog about how badly I STUNK as a waitress when I tried it at age 14?

Some things do NOT improve with time.

I was taking their orders, and my cook got mad and refused to take my orders... the ministers requested someone to help me as soon as I left their tables to take the orders to the kitchen... so two women came to "help" me... told me to just do the drinks and they'd take the food out.  *rolling eyes*  So, at the end, two ministers were missing their food... people were looking at me like I was completely incompitent.. I finally went out to cry... Oh, and the one time I actually attempted to speak Spanish, I absolutely froze, and stammered and stuttered and... *shaking head* it was really just a terrible expereience.

Saturday was better... we went to service in the morning, I hung out with my Spanish friends in the afternoon (I've missed them so much!!! Gotta start going back to Spanish church on Saturdays!).  Got one e-mail addy... ate one small piece of Spanish food (yummy!) then had to get back to work.

OH and the Spanish camp had some REALLY long services... but Bro. Miranda was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  He is now my absolute favorite preacher.  He's kinda short, kinda chubby, and has a voice like Taz!!!!!!!!!  He is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO great!!!!!!   Bro. Miranda preached twice (I only got to hear one though) and Bro. Bowman preached about "SuperDios". LOL it was a good one.

At the end, this one lady from Spanish church, (the one I went to for an entire year while I was at IBC) was sitting at a table with me as I talked to my friend, and all the sudden her eyes got huge and she was like "OMG she speaks spanish!"  ROFL it was too good.

If you're wondering why God had me fixed on the Transexual thing... We took a backslider with us to camp to work this year.  It was not even 5 minutes into the trip until the subject of trans and drag queens came up!  I was like "Oh! This is why God had me learn about this!"  So, pray for her... she was really touched by the fact that we let her go and everything.   She flat out told us that she isn't gay, she isn't a lesbian (aren't those the same thing?)... but when I jokingly asked about her having a sex change... I noticed her quickly avoiding the question.  *pondering the implications of her silence*

Anyway, I'm now switching obsessions... I think Spanish ministry is my new one.  A man (a brother from the Spanish church I went to) basically asked me (in a polite-ish fashion), why I wasn't doing any Spanish ministry.  I made excuses but...  they were pathetic. I have the language skills, and the burden... why am I not doing anything with them?  So, I'm adding that to my "things to seek God about" list for the week.  James and I both bought Spanish Bibles, (He bought one, and then I was like "They have Spanish Bibles?!" so I bought one too) I'm not sure what God will do but I'm excited about it.

Off to Camp!

Just thought I'd give everyone a quick update on my personal life.

I haven't written much personal stuff on here, as most of my innermost thoughts at the moment are NOT pleasant. So I decided to just think about other things instead.  Anything I tell you at the moment, I'd have to repent over later.  Lets just say... I'm hurt, angry, hurt, frustrated, hurt.... you see what I'm getting at! LOL  God's faithful through it all, I just am having trouble dealing.  *shrug*

But, on the good news side, I'm leaving tonight for Spanish camp! We'll cook supper for them and do the night concession stand.  At the moment I'm just looking forward to a VACATION!

I'll come back Monday, move into my new place, and then get back to normal living.

Oh, and just in case you are wondering... LOL No I didn't go around church last night asking everyone how many people with CP they knew! hahaha I was tempted though.

OMG!

OMG I am absolutely astounded by these statistics!!!

*once again: to the easily offended, this post is NOT for you*

So... on my ongoing search for knowledge... I found these statistics:

"Recent calculations indicate that the condition occurs in about 1 out of every 250 to 500 children born as boys, and that about 1 in every 2500 males in the U.S. has already undergone surgical sex reassignment*."

Want that in real terms? Check this out:

"Transsexualism is thus more than twice as prevalent as multiple sclerosis (MS), cerebral palsy or cleft lip/palate conditions."

Do you know how many people I know with CP???????????????????

*mouth hanging open*

Ponderings

I know, you all are gonna think I've TOTALLY lost my mind when I post this...

And if you're offended by crazy or controversial topics, you should SO not be reading farther!

Anyway.

I was watching Without a Trace last night, and it was about a woman who had disappeared.  Come to find out, she was actually born as a man, went through "sex re-assignment surgery," and was now a woman.

So.  What you may be asking, is "and this is important because.... why?"  LOL

It got me to pondering... what would happen if I witnessed to this woman?  If she decided she wanted God in her life, what would her life be?  I guess I'm asking... where would HER journey go?

Would she have to go back, have another surgery to make her back into a man?  Would she stay a woman?  What type of issues would she have each way? And what could we, as Christians, do to help smooth the journey?

Give me your thoughts on here... I'll post my thoughts in the comment blank too.  I'll also give you some testimonies and such of people who have actually BEEN THERE, and DONE THAT.  Testimonies and such.
