Now blooming: Rose, Vinca, Bachelor's Buttons, Hollyhock (dark purple), 2 Petunia (Purple & White), 4 Baby's Breath (light pinkish purple), Sweet William, 3 unidentified flowers
Well, todays adventure in the life of Jana is:
ANTS! I was innocently weeding my flowers when I was viciously attacked by big black biting ants!!!! I couldn't hardly get them off of my arm, and now I feel itchy all over. *sigh*
I did get my flowers dug out of my yard though. A bunch of them had started growing in the grass instead of in the flower beds! So, I dug them up and I'm selling them at our church yard sale this Saturday.

News in my life: (I know it's long... think of it as a combo of like 3 entries!)
James, me, and three others spent all day Thursday together. He took the two girls (his little cousin and her friend) out for Chinese for helping him move a freezer, and took me and Nick along for fun. We went to a state park nearby and then agreed on a deal with the girls and Nick. They come to church today (Sunday) and we all go to the park in between church and night church. I didn't think they'd do it! But sure enough, in my class today, I had two slightly sleepy girls, dressed for hiking! :o) They were SO good in class, I did NOT expect that much participation from them. We taught about salvation today... it was the lesson in our lesson book... cool how God works that out, huh?
James took us for a very LONG hike, which was kinda my fault... I didn't realize how long it was when I told him what I wanted to see. We hiked and hiked and hiked... took parts of three different trails... got there about 2:15, left about 4:15, zoomed home, showered, changed, went to get T from the nursing home, and only got to church about 15 minutes late. I am gonna be SO sore tomorrow! Due to a lack of help, I had to help lift T's wheelchair onto the church's rampless porch... plus we did some SERIOUS hiking, because we had to hurry to get that all done and be back at church reasonably close to on time. (Note to Amy: We took trail 3, to 5, to 9, to 5, to 3!) Oh, and it was raining. Yep... and even soaking wet it was STILL hot! My glasses were steaming so much I couldn't hardly see with them, but I could NOT see enough to do the trails without them. So, I'd take them off when we went uphill (I could see the sticks and roots and rocks just enough) and then put them on when we went downhill. By the time we got done, we were soaked through, exhausted, and muddy. IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to do it again next Sunday! :o) If it's not raining, I'm gonna take my digital camera (if I can find it and it's batteries) and see how good of pics I can get.
My cell phone was in James backpack, and is now disfunctional. Guess it matches everything else in my life now huh? Hahahaha
In other news... I had a serious arguement with someone very close to me. We'll call her K. I have no idea if she has forgiven me, is still mad at me, or what... but I'm really really hurt. Help me pray that God will mend whatever is broken between us.
I went on a major planting binge. We now have cauliflower, tomatos, green beans, carrots, and three different types of peppers planted. Now I'm just waiting for them to grow. :o) God even watered them for me today! Isn't he nice?
T thanked us today for getting her in the rain. It made me feel MUCH better. Of course, each time we come in and she is smiling from ear to ear, I feel much better too. God touched her tonight during the service! It was the first time my pastor has been able to preach since T has been coming (Pastor has been recovering from gallblader surgery) and the service was SO annointed!!! T needed kleenex by the time we were done! :o) Please help me pray that God will continue to minister in her life. I'm really growing attached.
I met an old friend from high school today, and she said she'd started a blog but barely written anything in it. I'm not sure how annonymous she wants to be, but I'll say hi to her on here anyway... I plan on giving her my blog addy so she can join our little circle of blogger friends! :) Anyway... HI AMY!!!!! WELCOME!!!!
In case you were wondering: (Scroll to the bottom if you wanna hear my deep devotional thoughts for the night)
Now blooming along Jana's way: Vinca, Bachelor's Buttons, Hollyhock (dark purple), 2 Petunia (Purple & White), 4 Baby's Breath (light pinkish purple), Sweet William, 2 unidentified flowers
Now harvesting: Black Raspberries
It is now 4 AM and I feel the need to blog. (Don't ya hate it when that happens? LOL) I have already done a bunch of ironing, finished two books (both I was almost at the end of) and done some general cleaning. I took a nap this afternoon... evidently that was NOT a smart thing to do!!! LOL It was nice at the time though.
We had an evangelist at church tonight, he was supposed to preach but the Holy Ghost fell in the service and he decided to let GOD have his way in the service!!!! And OHHHHHH was it awesome! God's been working on me... I noticed that I've been letting people get a lot closer to me lately. So... more love... but also more vulnerability and more hurt. I also made it through Father's Day without too much emotional turmoil. Called Dad and said hi, but he didn't seem to chatty and I had friends over, so it was a short conversation. But it's the thought that counts, right?
24 days left until church camp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SO ready for a vacation!
M, my adopted "daughter" broke my car door today. I have NO idea how. I told James that we were not having anymore children! LOL But then he fixed the car door, so it's all good.
I've fallen in love with the book of Ezekial: Chapter 4: God tells Ezekial "Here, take a tile, make a model of Jerusalem. Tell the Jews this is their brain. Smash it to pieces. Tell the Jews this is their brain away from God.
Chapter 8: Imagine this as a MOVIE!!! The special effects would be SWWWWEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTT!! A being with the lower half of it on fire grabs Zeeky by the hair and takes him to Jerusalem. Shows him the sins of the Jews. Tells him to look another side, shows him worse sins. Fire guy grabs Zeeky, takes him to a wall, and Zeeky finds a hole in it. Fire guys big booming voice declares: DIG. Zeeky digs and look, he finds a door! *picturing the door glowing and Zeeky looking in awe*
Okay, maybe it wasn't THAT spectacular... but evidently I'm not the ONLY one who liked it! Mohammed claimed to be carried away by an angel to Jerusalem too. Must be a popular dream destination eh?! Personally I prefer tropical beaches inhabited by buff tan scantily clothed men... but... whatever floats your boat! :)
And if you'll notice, That story is really similar to the Christmas Carol. You know, the whole being transported by supernatural beings to see things and fix your life.

From Sunday Brunch:
Are you game?
"Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music." -Marcus Brigstocke
(Note from Jana: I completely disagree with that quote... )
1) What is your favorite board game? Hmm... I love Life, and Risk
2) What type of games are your favorite? (ie, board, card, participatory, dice, word games) Card, Board... what are "participatory" games anyway? Probably ones like pictionary... those are nice too.
3) How many games do you own, and if possible, list them. Not possible AT ALL! You can't be serious!!! The shelf above my puter is 5 feet long, and stacked with games! I have *counting*four stacks of normal games, each stack has at least 5 games. Plus, I have piles of card and other small games, Old maid, Uno, and Jinga.
4) Do you enjoy computer or video games? Which one is your favorite? Both.
5) Describe a great childhood memory of an outside game. I was an only child... so... my favorite was either making mud pies and watching them decompose after it rained several times and they were left several weeks, setting small piles of stuff (like straw) on fire, or pretending the dog was a horse and trying to ride her! LOL
Wow that makes me sound demented!!! LOL
From Word Beads:
I'm supposed to use these words in some way: Demagnify, Moist, Goblet, Unintended, and Sacrifice. Here we go!
Today, in an unintended incident, I accidently demagnified the goblet that I use to hold all of my moist offerings to the potato god. It was truly a tragedy!
- Wally:: World
- Phantom:: of the opera
- Slippery:: when wet
- Fungus:: amongus
- Slot: gambling thingy
- Type:: writer
- Discharge:: ew!
- "We need to talk”:: I"M GONNA DIE!!!!!
- On the spot:: Spot the Kitty
- Liquid:: soap

It figures that by the time I'm calm enought to sit and type, I'm no longer in the mood for a full rant!!! *dramatic sigh* Anyway....
Lets see what all has gone on in my life since last time I wrote anything...
I was chased around a table by a pervert with Alzeimers (at church during a dinner) after he grabbed my arm, tried to pull me all close to him while telling me how pretty I was. I broke free, high-tailed it to the other part of the church, and went to find help. James came to rescue me, by just looking big and burly and sitting very close to me at the table! He also mentioned the fact that it's good that I'm not dating him in any way, because he would NOT have taken that from Mr. Pervert, alzeimers or not!!!! LOL I about died.
Nursing Home Ministry Part II: I fed someone this week. Yep. I'm not sure who was more surprised, me or her! LOL Anyway, there was no one else around to do it, and she tried to eat herself but really can't... so I just did it. It actually seemed rather natural, and she liked my baked potato! LOL I guess Im' not the only one who loves potatoes smothered in ungodly amounts of butter and cheese!!!!!
James (who goes with me to help load her wheelchair) says it's like we've aquired a daughter. I'm not sure I'm up to the challenge of "parenting" a woman with a daughter my age, who's mind is perfect but who's body is in pretty sad shape! I'm annoyed with people in church who either barely talk to her or just avoid us like the plague... people who yell at me because they think I'm neglecting other things (which I'm NOT), or because they don't consider her important, and trying to balance the needs of everyone else God has given me to minister to. And to top it all off... it's not like she ever says thanks. Cause, of course, people never do. It's very... annoying.
God blessed me with two wonderful friends, I think I've been sorta adopted into their family. He may have even blessed me with a job.... I'm looking into it.
M, one of the girls from church, and I had loads of fun yesterday laughing endlessly at my cousin J. I haven't laughed that long in centuries!!!! Then afterwords I was out until 2:30 AM with the two friends I mentioned a sec ago. We prayed, then ate cookies (You know you're Pentecostal when: You can't even pray together without having to have a meal afterwords! LOL), laughed, and caught up on each other's lives. Compared notes and funny stories about the aforementioned "Mr. Pervert". :o)
I burnt my hand while walking past the iron. I hit my hand into it, and suddenly discovered that I'd turned the iron on earlier and forgot about it!!! So, now I have green stuff on my hand to try and heal the burn. Lucky me! LOL Now it's the middle of the night and my flowers havn't been watered... so I guess I'll be watering the flowers with a flashlight AGAIN! Sometimes I really wonder what my neighbors think of me... then I realize I probably don't wanna know! LOL

Well, yesterday I DID finally get housework done! Every bit of laundry was washed, dried, folded, and even IRONED! (Which, if you knew how much clothes I had been putting off ironing, you'd know what an accomplishment that was!!! LOL) And even with putting some of the shirts in a drawer instead of in the closet, I almost couldn't fit my clothes all in there! I don't think they've ALL been clean and ironed at the same time before!!! LOL
James came over and took over my computer while I ironed. He had a nice chat with Mrs. Diamond, some of my unsaved friends, and one particular Apostilic friend I have. She's single, and they really seemed to hit it off! I'm wondering if I am hearing wedding bells??? Candi Myers... sounds good doesn't it?
No better way to deal with someone who you want to like but know you can't ever be with... than to set them up with a friend who you know will love them absolutely to death! :)
In other news... I've decided to start sewing again. Now that the laundry and household things are caught up (except for cleaning the living room) I think I'm going to start making skirts out of some of mom's dresses she decided she didn't like. I'll cut off the skirt part, throw on some elastic or make it a waistband, and look, I'll have a skirt! LOL I'm going to work on one for T at the nursing home, (She's coming with us for a mother/daughter banquet we're having tomorrow, and I thought it'd make her day to have a new cute skirt to wear. It's already made, it just needs to be hemmed for her.) and one for me... it was once a bright hawaiian sleeveless dress, but the material is itchy on my neck, so I'm going to make it into a bright hawaiian SKIRT! :o) If all goes well... My wardrobe should be increasing rapidly! So will T's if I think it won't offend her. I also need to finish sewing my skirt that I was "converting" from pants. I have some errands to run today, so I'll probably take the skirt to my pastor's wife's house and have her look at it how I have it pinned, and see what she thinks.
And my transmittion is acting up in my car. Back to the shop it'll go, first thing on Monday. Oh, the joys of modern living! Sometimes the Amish life really does seem nice... at least until I think of the prohibition against deoderant, and then reconsider! I'd never survive. *shaking head*

Well, I got a letter in the mail today saying I hadn't been chosen for the job. The interview stunk so I didn't really figure I'd get it. I also wasn't really qualified for the job, it involved a lot of public speaking, and I have no real experience with that except for teaching Sunday School.
In other news... we're still working in the nursing home and it's really starting to grow on me. We started out with just G and another guy (who's name I never learned) and then it was G and T, then G T and S, then S left, LOL so now it's G T and Gl. So God's keepin us busy.
It's rainy and cool outside today, I think I'm going to open up the house, put on warm clothes, and hope that the cool air gives me an energy boost! Today, the one day of the week that I don't have to go ANYWHERE or do ANYTHING outside of these four walls, will be spent on dishes, laundry, cleaning, vaccuming, etc. How exciting huh? LOL I'm hoping to get it all DONE and then be able to do some sewing!
Sooooo.... I'm going to work on that a while, and then come back and do my MEMEs!!!!!!! :)

I wasn't sure if I should be insulted or pleased... I chose pleased... but did it ever enter anyone's mind that maybe God WANTS me single for a reason? (Like that he's still working on my temper so I wouldn't KILL the man I marry? LOL)

So sad! And Wednesday Memes
Today I went to a nursing home. Yep, Me, the queen of hating nursing homes, actually went into one. I hate the places with a passion... my mom has always cooked in nursing homes, well at least for the past 10 years or so.
I saw a young woman, about my age, with Downs Syndrome... cussing at the nurses because she couldn't hear her TV show... It absolutely about broke my heart. She reminded me so much of my friend Dyana's neice K. K used to sit with me in church, and I'd put my arm around her, and about half of the time she'd fall asleep on me. She had Downs too, and although I was always getting on to her, I loved that kid like crazy, and miss her so bad sometimes. They moved across the US about a year ago. Anyway, while K is surrounded by loving people, woman X sits in a nursing home, alone, uncared for...
I really hate nursing homes! But there was an absolutely precious woman in there today who wanted to go to church so bad she'd even begged one of our ministers to throw her in the back of his truck and drive her that way! LOL So she was worth going into the nursing home.
Now... onto my MEME for the day!!!!!
This one is from: Chick Chat
Here we go:
1. What's Your Favorite Veggie?: Corn!!! I absolutely love corn, brocolli,and cauliflower
2. Do You Have A Favorite Salad Dressing?: Ranch!

All right everyone... I have fallen head over heels in love with Memes!!! Here are my Memes for the day:
From: Tuesday is ChooseDay (These are all "would you rather" questions)
1. spend 76 hours at a rave OR at a work/education conference?
Since I'm not exactly sure of what a rave is... I'll choose the conference.
2. Star in your own sitcom that only lasts one season OR star in one hit movie?
Hmm... If I had a sitcom I'd have the power to make it... but if it only lasted one season then it must be really unpopular. I'll choose the Movie!
3. Drive a winnebago everywhere for a month OR drive a scooter?
I wonder if anyone actually CHOOSES the scooter? Winnebago for me!!!
4. Drink a shot of laundry detergent OR a glass full of white vinegar?
Laundry detergent!!!!
