Book Review - A Time to Die
I just finished a new Star Trek book. It's called "A Time To Die" and it's by my favorite Star Trek author, John Vornholt.
This book is from farther into the Star Trek series than I'm used to. As it starts out, Captain Picard has been sent to a mental hospital after a strange situation on his last mission. Wesley Crusher (now a "Traveler", which is a group of people who can travel throughout space instantaneously and have a communal mind... like the Borg, only not evil...) steps in to help get the captain back into service and solve the mystery of an entity that seems to be able to mimic the shape of starships.
A new race is introduced in this book. (well, I THINK they were introduced in it, if they've been in other Star Trek things I've never heard of them before) The Ontailians seem to be like giant caterpillars. I don't really like them, and you know a book is good when the characters can get on your nerves. :)
Some new characters are introduced in this book too. My favorite is Commodore Korgan, who is a Medusan. Medusans seem to be beings without bodies that communicate only through telepathy. And get this, the poor buy gets sick when he travels at warp speed. Sad, huh?
The beginning of this book was really really good, the middle was okay, and I LOVED the ending!!!! Definately a great book to read!
My rating: 4.8 out of 5
