Well, as promised, I have two book reviews for you all. I finished two books and still have several in progress. So... here's my opinions of both of the books I finished.
Between A Wok And A Hard Place - Tamar Myers
Set in a quaint little Amish/Mennonite community, I expected this book to be full of deep hidden secrets, violence, and action. Instead, 90% of the book was devoted to her humor, and so almost none of it was about the plot. There was no suspence, and the time she spent ranting about the shock of seeing her first naked man made you forget what the plot was ABOUT before the next clue came out!
And it had NOTHING to do with Chinese food!!!! WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!!
The author has GREAT potential, and her characters were actually very good. She just didn't develop her plot. At all. She just needs to work on balancing her humor and mystery elements together better, and she actually could write some really good books! This just isn't one of them. LOL
And the name still ticks me off.
My rating: 1 out of 5
Star Trek TNG, Boogeymen - Mel Gilden
Strange new alien life forms, a malfunctioning ship computer system, and Wesley Crusher finds himself being the CAPTAIN of the Enterprise! All very cool things!!!! But I didn't really like the book. LOL I mean, it was okay, but it didn't keep you on the edge of your seat like most of the other Star Trek books have. I think the plot was a bit cheesy, and I there wasn't a lot of good interaction between the characters. So, I was a little disappointed. Overall, it was an okay book, but not one I'd reccommend.
