In story #1, Kirk and Picard are stranded in a Bajoran archeology site with a murder.  So much for their "vacation" huh?!

In story #2, Kirk tells about his first days in command, the beginings of his friendship with Spock, his first encounter with a bizare race called the "Totality", and the loss of his first crew member.

AWESOME book! It's gives you a lot of insight into the personalities of Kirk & Spock, and how they became friends.
